YATAY Interview

Entirely handmade in Italy and founded by Umberto de Marco, Yatay combines artisanal quality and ethical resources to create unique sneakers, as the founder Umberto de Marco told us in the following interview.

What is fashion to you?

It’s a vehicle for conveying one’s own aesthetic vision and moral values.

When and why did you start your brand?

I founded Yatay in 2018, with the intention of demonstrating how the union between sustainability, quality and aesthetics was, today, something attainable.

Where do you get your inspiration from when you create?

My first element I research is the materials, combining colours and textures to my models so that they are always in line with the trends of the moment.

How would you describe the collection you are presenting at White Show Milano?

Elegant, sophisticated and spirited. It’s a collection that winks at the younger generation aiming for a wider target market and an international objective.

Do you have any future projects?

Yes, the presence of new sustainable technologies to create sneakers with innovative aspects.
