THOMAS NEUMAN Interview

 

The brand Thomas Neuman was founded by the entrepreneur Thomas Flaim, who grew professionally in the sales teams of various fashion brand. The collections are dedicated to smart and sexy women, as the manager explained in the following interview.

What is fashion for you?

It is a form of expression and a way of being yourself with no filters. To me, fashion is very much based on the individuality of the consumer choosing who they want to be according to taste and “mood”. And today there is a greater interest in the quality and uniqueness expressed by a brand I like to think that my client chooses us because she finds a little of herself or how she would like to be in our collections. Around us there are already too many copies, I believe that the uniqueness in fashion does not lie in making "one-of-a-kind" pieces, but in being able to create collections that allow women to interpret them in a different way, as different and splendid they are!

When and why did you start your brand?

The brand was born in September 2017 and the first collection was presented in January 2018. I wanted to create a brand for "my women" (sister, friends, girlfriend ...), as I see them, strong and modern. And thanks to the many years working in sales for luxury brands, I was able to work with the best buyers in the world and their feedback helped me in building my project.

Where do you get inspiration from?

From rock music of the late 60's and 70's. From photography by Helmut Newton, Ellen Von Unwerth and also by various past designers such as Claude Montanta and Thierry Mugler. These inspirations are filtered by my personal experiences, by the women around me,by my travels, everything is linked in the brand's DNA, which is indissolubly mine! In addition to all the travels in my life and the people I have had the opportunity to meet and get to know.

How would you describe the collection you are presenting at White Show Milano?

Smart and sexy, modern and one of a kind. The Thomas Neuman brand is a project that wants to grow through my own experiences, feedback coming from our customers and by trying to remember all the beautiful fashion references of the past, which have defined who we are today.

Future projects?

Increase the wholesale customer package in the world and work on developing the brand for the future, also exploring other product categories without ever losing the focus on brand identity.
