BENEVIERRE Interview

 

Based on the cornerstones of Italian culture: craftsmanship and tailoring. The brand's goal is to have the broadest vision of the present to create something that can characterize the future. The Benevierre project, from the conception to the making of every single garment, belongs to the Italian supply chain. "Benevierre is a journey that analyzes the person trying to bring to light the need to communicate, to express oneself, to represent oneself with a garment," said the founder and designer Andrea Coli in the following interview. 

What is fashion for you? 

It's not easy to express in words what fashion represents for me. I have never been able to enclose the concept of 'fashion' in a few words because it has always been a need, a necessity, a passion. Deeply personal, like a love. Something intimate, subjective. Fashion has always been a constant for me over time. It's a flame that has never been extinguished, probably one of the few constants that I will carry with me throughout my life.

When and why did you start your brand? 

I founded Benevierre in 2019 to be happy every day. I am aware that I would suffer if my days didn't feature with my routine: designing and sewing. I founded Benevierre because I think designing clothing is the only thing that can make me happy every day.

Where do you get inspiration from when you create?

I always have a small notebook and pen with me: I take them everywhere. I take inspiration from everything. I take my cue daily from my surroundings. I take about 20 photos a day that I print out to write down feelings and motivations so that I can remember even after a while the message that the image has sent me, and then convert it into a garment, in a fantasy.

How would you describe the collection you will present at White Show Milano?

I think this collection fully represents what Benevierre tries to convey in every single garment: the freedom to be yourself. The collection touches on different materials, even distant from each other in terms of technical characteristics, but characterized by deep colors and soft shades. 

Future projects?

We are consolidating the project on a national level and at the same time taking crucial steps on a European level. We often look far ahead, ambition projects into the future, almost underestimating what we have built, step by step. Inevitably, I'm the first to do this, but I'm grateful. I'm well aware of the importance of what we've built up to now.
