YOXOI: performance and sustainability in the world of tennis

by Greta Scaffidi

YOXOI is an Italian brand, born in 2018, 100% Made in Italy, that designs, produces and markets the best apparel products for tennis, padel and squash.

The company is based in Pordenone and specialized in the research of technical materials and their application in sportswear in order to create increasingly advanced and effective garments, consequently improving the athlete's performance on the court. Inspired by the Japanese samurai and the philosophy of the Rising Sun, the brand defines sports equipment as a weapon for the fighter, that extra edge for players who play to win. Everything stems from a vision that puts at the center of its scientific research and production development, textile engineering applied to the physiology of athletes.

The fibers are of the highest quality and the garments are obtained thanks to the development of production techniques, new treatments and technologies in step with the sustainable values that the company promotes.

It is precisely from this need that the DUEXTRETM Competition shirt was designed, a technical t-shirt used in the world of tennis and the most environmentally friendly on the market.  The yarns have been carefully selected and combined with each other in a precise way, to give life to the patented DUEXTRETM technology: two layers of texture composed of a mix of three different fibers (Dryarn, Tencel and polyester); a bio-engineered weave with active 3D structure without any seams that allows the skin to remain fresh and hydrated, without feeling the typical sense of suffocation that you get when the pores are soaked with sweat. In fact, these particular fibers combined allow the skin's pores to breathe easily. The outer wall of the fabric also allows it to absorb sweat effectively and at the same time, promote breathability over a large surface area of the knit.

In addition to having created a knitted fabric that guarantees excellent technical performance, the brand has approached the world of sustainability, supporting increasingly fundamental values.

The Competition Shirt DUEXTRETM is in fact eco-friendly thanks to the 3 fibers developed and used for the construction of its jersey with seamless system. The fibers Polypropylene Dryarn, Tencel and Recycled Polyester, are ecological and totally sustainable, neither solvents nor acids are used, and their production processes are carried out in full respect of the environment. All 3 yarns are produced in Italy with Italian or European fibers, and this allows to minimize the environmental impact of the transport of raw materials. The garment is designed to ensure the best performance even after intense use and after wearing it for many days. The fibers used are extremely resistant, coming more and more to reduce the consumption and the "disposable" purchases.
