TRUE NY Interview

What is fashion to you?

It’s passion, a love story that’s been going on for 40 years. It is the desire to create something that represents exactly my idea: the fusion between the choice of the best materials, a wide palette of colours and the perfect fit.

When and why did you start your brand?

Everything started more than ten years ago, during one of my trips to New York, when I was inspired by the chinos, a symbol of the casual chic style with “stars and stripes”, which I reinterpreted in a more tailored way, typical of Italian manufacture. The market reaction has been incredible.

Where do you get your inspiration from when you create?

It is a cosmopolitan type of inspiration. It is an exploration that moves between Paris and Tokyo, combined with a strong identity with the fabrics, all strictly Made in Italy.

How would you describe the collection you are presenting at White Show Milano?

The Truenyc collection is dedicated to a free, dynamic, sophisticated woman with a contemporary taste, who doesn’t like to flaunt. They are versatile garments, with a metropolitan zest perfectly fitting, made as they were in the past but timeless.

Do you have any future projects?

Although the trousers remain the core business of Truenyc, the goal I pursue year after year is to bring the brand towards a total look. We also pay great attention to sustainability with a local supply chain and the use of sustainable materials.
