OTTOTREDICI ANNALISA GIUNTINI Interview

The Ottotredici brand was founded in 2008 by Annalisa Giuntini and Paolo Panerai. Initially, production focused on very soft modal-silk and modal-cashmere scarves made with natural dyes and prints. Today it aims at an increasingly complete total look, as Giuntini told us in the following interview.

What is fashion for you?

It is a set of colors and patterns that allows me to express myself and my creative madness. It is an abstract concept, a lifestyle, and a way of being.

When and why did you found your brand?

Ottotredici was born in 2008 from a chance meeting in Marsa Alam in a particular moment in which I wanted and needed to turn my life around. There I met Paolo Panerai, who later became my partner and great friend, whom I consider the other half of the madness necessary to give life to a brand. Paolo had the required technical skills, and I had the desire to express my creativity. And so the first collection of scarves was born.

Where do you get inspiration from when you create?

I get inspired by the colors and shades of nature and animals. I find that their tones are always perfectly matched and harmonious, and I try to recreate the same effect in my collections.

How would you describe the collection you will be presenting at White Show Milano?

For the autumn-winter 2021/22 collection, we have focused on the entire look embellished with cashmere pullovers in pastel colors, which can be matched with two-tone stoles in the same yarn and oversized coats, as today's fashion requires. Urban culture is mixed with a couture spirit, while graphic games (polka dots and leopard print) characterize the look. The fall color palette is very varied. It touches dramatic tones such as black and purple and explores colors that recall nature, such as brown and green, declined in all their shades. The right balance between urban and classy, elegant yet colorful is the fil rouge of the collection that aims to create beauty that can excite a lifetime.

Plans for the future?

We are aiming to reach new markets and expand even further in those where we are already present.
Our goal is always to grow and improve. We want to add new garments and continue to seek excellent fabrics and refined combinations for our scarves.
