Focus on Pin Up Stars

Jerry Tommolini: the designer who revolutionized Made In Italy beachwear

A new way of interpreting beachwear, previously padded and structured, the one made by Jerry Tommolini, considered the father of contemporary beachwear and “out-of-water” collection, who has redesigned swimwear for the contemporary woman’s body - free and dynamic - lightening it from bulky volumes and building around the universe of beachwear a new vision that winks at the world of fashion. Since 1995, the year in which Jerry founded Pin-Up Stars, his pieces have entered women's wardrobes to creati cocktail outfits and to add grit and personality to those summer looks having one word in common: "surprise".
Colors and jungle inspirations explode in a triumph of positivity that become part of the DNA of Pin Up Stars, and decree its success. His creative vision is based on fabric research, fantasies with the peculiarity of living within the fabric and not printed, ensuring greater durability for these models that since the beginning have conquered the pages of fashion magazines around the world. Great contributor: the wise use of fine details such as original Swarovski crystals, along with embroidery details made with the care of traditional Italian craftsmanship, a technique that is increasingly refined and brought, season after season, to an ever higher level of technical precision, to respond to a vision of excellence that Jerry has pursued since his first approach to the world of fashion.

I check trends around me and do exactly the opposite" likes to say Jerry. A true trend setter who has never wanted to follow the rules dictated by the catwalks. This is the secret of a style identified in the details and does not miss an opportunity to surprise. Sequins, the stylistic hallmark of the brand, are applied with a unique method and studied with the criteria of passion and relentless research; the hand-embroidered crochet on lycra and the laser processing are the result of the technological innovation applied to design to achieve a highly impactful aesthetic such as the 3d flowers of the SS22 collection.

Genius and madness, combined with the right amount of fun, are the basis of Jerry's creative process, who is never tired of crossing the peninsula constantly searchingfor the most experienced craftsmen and the best materials, today as yesterday, when after his experience as a successful model he created his first brand Catalina and revolutionized the concept of swimwear, starting from the iconic dainetto, an innovative material with a suede effect that between vitaminic nuances and precious decorations has made the history of a brand that gives luster to the Made In Italy.
